About YRZtiles | STEM Magnetic Tiles Born from Play

YRZtiles began with a parent, three curious children, and a simple question: could one building toy offer more ways to connect, create, and keep imagination moving?

Our story

A better way to build

Our founder, Andy, wanted his children to grow up experimenting, solving problems, and turning their ideas into something they could hold. He believed STEM learning should feel like play, because children explore most deeply when curiosity leads the way.

His family enjoyed both interlocking snowflake building pieces and magnetic tiles. Each system inspired creative play, but each had limits. Interlocking pieces offered flexible connections without magnetic support, while magnetic tiles made impressive 3D structures with fewer ways to connect.

Instead of choosing between them, Andy set out to bring their best qualities together.

Build it. Test it. Change it. Then build something new.

Meet MagFlake

Two ways to connect. More ways to imagine.

MagFlake combines interlocking geometry with magnetic edges in one building system. Children can click pieces together, connect them magnetically, and explore structures that grow up, out, and in unexpected directions.

What we believe

STEM should feel like play

We design for open-ended discovery, not a single correct result. A tower that falls becomes a new question. A strange shape becomes the start of a story. Our measure is simple: will a child want to pick it up and build again tomorrow?
